The Pittsburgh Penguins distributed 18,000 free tickets to area youth for the pre-season game against the Minnesota Wild at CONSOL Energy Center on Saturday September 24, 2011 3 p.m. – a unique promotion known as the “Free Game for Kids,” celebrating the team’s young demographic. Tickets were distributed to local youth hockey organizations, the Pennsylvania Interscholastic Hockey League, the Tickets For Kids Foundation, Hill District youth, members of the TGI Friday’s Penguins Kids Club, local university students, the Little Penguins’ Learn-To-Play program and groups such as the Boy Scouts, Boys & Girls Clubs, Big Brothers and Big Sisters, Make-A-Wish, The Children’s Institute and Autism Speaks.
