Pilewicz Earns Honor

The North American Hockey League (NAHL) has announced Divisional Stars of the Week presented by Easton Hockey for the week ending Oct. 11, 2015.  The Easton Hockey Divisional Stars of the Week is a weekly feature during the 2015-16 regular season that honors the top performing players in each of the four NAHL divisions. Only players that are nominated by their respective teams are considered for the Divisional Players of the Week award.

Former Esmark Stars AAA Midget 16U defenseman, and current Johnstown Tomahawk member, Adam Pilewicz, was selected as the East Division Star of the Week.

Pilewicz, 19, helped his club take three of a possible six points during a weekend road trip. The native of Sewickly, PA, had seven shots on goal and recorded four points during the three games against the Aston Rebels and Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Knights.

After being held off the scoreboard in a Friday night loss in Aston, Pilewicz (6’1/195) recorded an assist in a 4-3 overtime loss against the Knights on Saturday. His best game of the weekend came on Sunday, when he had a goal and two assists in a 5-4 overtime win in Wilkes-Barre/Scranton.

“Adam really came alive this weekend for us. As a first year d-man he has progressed each week improving his game and becoming more adjusted to this league. With some different situations occurring to our d-men, his role increased heavily this weekend and he ran with it. I am very proud of the way he elevated his game and I look forward to watching him continue to progress for us all season,” said Johnstown head coach Mike Letizia.

Pilewicz was a member of the 2012-13 Stars 16U team.
