The Esmark Stars of the North American Prospects Hockey League (NAPHL) are pleased to announce that 18U forward Jonathan Dagnal has signed an NAHL tender agreement with the Johnstown Tomahawks. The Tomahawks competed in the NAHL’s North Division this past season.

Dagnal, 19, has spent the better part of the last three seasons playing in the NAPHL, most recently for the Esmark Stars 18U team. The native of McMurray, PA, spent limited time with the Stars this past season, joining the team during the second half of the year.

In five regular NAPHL season games, Dagnal (6’1/190) recorded four points.  At the NAPHL Championship Series, he had three points in four playoff games.

Dagnal spent the other half of the 2014-15 season playing junior hockey, which included a short stint with the Cleveland Jr. Lumberjacks in the NA3HL. While with Cleveland, Dagnal had four goals in five games.

Dagnal spent the 2012-13 and 2013-14 season with the Stars organization playing in the NAPHL. Dagnal played in the 2014 NAPHL Top Prospects Tournament in Geneva, IL, for Team North, which won the event, and recorded two goals.  During the 2013-14 season, Dagnal skated for the Esmark 18U team in the NAPHL, where he had 14 points in 23 games played and recorded five points in five playoff games.

During the 2012-13 season, Dagnal played for the Stars 16U team in the NAPHL, recording 10 points in 18 games and four points in five playoff games.

Dagnal is the third player from the Esmark 18U team to sign an NAHL tender this season joining Carter Ekberg (Janesville) and Adam Alavi (Wenatchee).
