Esmark's Ekberg Named 18U AAA Peak Performer

Defenseman honored by NAPHL

The North American Prospects Hockey League (NAPHL) has named Carter Ekberg, defenseman, U18 AAA Esmark Stars as the 18U Defensive Apex Learning Peak Performer for his performance at the NAPHL's opening showcase in Blaine, MN.
 
Ekberg (6'2", 185 lbs), a senior at Peters Township High School, finished the league showcase tied for the scoring lead among defenseman as he registered 6 points (1 goal, 5 assists) in five games, helping lead the Stars to a 3-1-0-1 record at the event.
 
The 17 year-old defenseman from McMurray, PA, picked up at his first U18 NAPHL league showcase right where he left off last season in the U16 division, where he was named an All-NAPHL 16U 3rd Team selection. He also appeared in the league's inaugural 16U All-Star Game last season.
 
“Carter had a strong showing in Blaine," said Esmark Head Coach Dave Kosick.  "He demonstrated that he has quickly made the transition to the midget major level."
